What is Divination?
The Merriam-Webster defines the word divination as “1: the art or practice that seeks to foresee or foretell future events or discover hidden knowledge usually by the interpretation of omens or by the aid of supernatural powers; 2: unusual insight; intuitive perception.
What is IFÁ Divination?
IFÁ is one of the sacred oral texts of the Yoruba people of West Africa (parts of present-day Nigeria, Benin, Burkina Faso). This ancient corpus contains the history, cosmology, worldview, linguistic heritage, medical tradition and ethical legacy of the Yoruba people and has been preserved orally through poetic form.
ODÙ IFÁ which is our sacred oracle, is organized into 256 distinct sections: 16 major ODÙ and 240 minor ODÙ – each containing an innumerable quantity of verses. Traditionally, ODÙ are memorized and transmitted orally by a cadre of priests known as Babalawo, who reference the text during divination in order to provide guidance to people seeking advice and resolve for personal issues. The Babalawo uses the IFA divination system to make a spiritual inquiry into one’s akashic record to see how a problem or situation is best resolved. It is means of communication between the natural and supernatural worlds that is used as a guide to ones destiny.

Our Oba Ategbe also does divinations to help people to find out the identify of their ÒRÌŞÀ ÁBÀÁWÁYÉ or ALÁBÀÁWÁYÉ, which is the ÒRÌŞÀ of your birth. After you have paid for your ALÁBÀÁWÁYÉ divination, we will send you a confirmation email and request for your birth date, your mother’s first name, and your full birth name. You must reply to us with this birth information before we can complete your divination and send your results.
